Casa Congo is a non-profit organization in Nicaragua. Our mission is to empower communities
with skills and resources for sustainable development.

Casa Congo is a conservation movement founded on four pillars: ecology, ocean advocacy, built environments and community. We strive to create opportunities for environmental protection and economic prosperity in our local community. And we believe that with the right approach, these two goals do not have to be mutually exclusive.

At Casa Congo, we focus our conservation efforts on Chacocente, Astillero’s natural areas and the ecosystem services they provide. By doing so, we create new jobs that support the economic recovery of Nicaragua, which does not have to come at the expense of the environment. We empower local community leaders to become advocates for sustainability and, by providing the tools, training and resources to make sustainable solutions viable, we aim to transform the location into a world wide destination where the local community members are the protagonists of their own change.
